This was the 100 km Pacific Populaire bike ride from Riley Park in Vancouver to Richmond, BC and back. The ride is an annual event and one of 2 organized bt the
BC Randonneurs Bicycle Club as a way to introduce cyclist to long distance timed cycling. It is not a race, but instead is based upon randonneuring where rides in excess of 200km called brevets are organized with timed check points which a cyclist must complete in a prescribed time.
